CAD Designer
Wanted:
Sharp, reliable CAD Designer with 3+ years experience to support structural drafting for construction engineering projects in the heavy civil infrastructure sector. Some civil-related (geo-structural) drafting should also be expected.
Pay: $35/hour
Hours: Minimum 30 hours/week guaranteed, normal working hours (M-F, usually 8am-4pm CST)
Location: Remote position, must be US-based.
Position Type: Independent contractor (1099) for 2 months with the potential for longer term subject to work load.

What You'll Do:
- Draft 2D AutoCAD drawings for engineered systems made of steel, concrete, and timber.
- Translate engineering sketches, markups, and concepts into professional plans.
- Produce drawings for temporary structures like: shoring walls, cofferdams, bridge falsework, and formwork systems.
- Produce drawings for permanent structures like: retaining walls, foundations, various structural details for buildings and other structures. We do not perform architectural detailing.
- Occasionally detail grades and contours in 2D for earthwork.
- Revise markups and coordinate updates with engineers and project staff.
- Begin CAD drafting with same-day or next-day notice once project is awarded.
What You’ll Need:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D).
- Experience drafting for heavy civil or structural engineering projects.
- Experience working with plans for DOT (any state), USACE, or NAVFAC projects.
- Ability to understand design intent and work independently.
Optional but nice to have:
- Experience with 3D modeling and familiarity with Revit or Civil 3D.
